American Foam Cast: Lost Foam Casting Process

American Foam Cast is committed to upholding high standards of quality, both those set within our own shop and those requested by our customers. All of our foam patterns are made in-house to assist our customers with long-term production costs and ensure consistent quality throughout the project.

Our facility maintains a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards for metal casting and quality control. As part of this quality management system, we subject each product to continual metal analysis and dimensional measurements to ensure that it precisely fits the standards set for it. We also work closely with each of our customers from design to delivery to ensure they receive the product that they need on time and ready for operation.

Delivering On-Time

Typical metal casting techniques can take days to finally get into the actual production of components once the foam pattern tooling is complete, but that’s not the case at American Foam Cast. As soon as we have developed the tooling necessary for your aluminum component, we can quickly go into production. We aim to reduce your downtime and get you the parts you need as quickly as possible. In our 20 years of business, we’ve had an OTD of 99% for both inventory management and direct delivery to our clients.

Efficiently Solving Complex Casting Challenges

Not only can we handle highly complex designs, but we also produce these parts with tight tolerances and excellent dimensional accuracy, reducing the machining and processing needed after casting is complete. Often, what could take multiple different parts in another casting method takes just one in lost foam.

Lost foam, initially, can seem expensive. However, the long-term benefits that we offer in costs, time, design flexibility, and stress, often outweigh those initial higher costs. American Foam Cast is dedicated to being your casting partner. That means that we will tailor our production process to your needs, upsizing or downsizing according to your production demands, creating tooling that allows the entire component to be cast in a single casting, and providing solutions to complex casting problems that our customers bring to us.
